Rear Admiral Ather Mukhtar HI(M) - Chairman Board of Governors & Commander Karachi

Rear Admiral Athar Mukhtar HI (M) joined Pakistan Navy in April 1981 as Cadet and was commissioned in Operations Branch on 31 May 1984. He is qualified International Principal Warfare Officer Course (UK). The Rear Admiral is a graduate of PN Staff Course and National Security Course. National Defense University Islamabad. He did Masters in Defense strategic studies. He has commanded PN Ships HAIBAT (Missile Boat), MUHAFIZ (MCMV), BEHR PAIMA (survey Board Vessel) and MOAWIN (Combat Support Ship). He has been Commandant PNS BAHADUR (School of Naval Operations) and also has a vast experience on staff appointments at Naval Headquarters including assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Training) and Directory Project Plans. The Rear Admiral has been commander 9th Auxiliary & Mine Warfare Squadron and Project Director Jinnah Naval Base at Islamabad. He served as commander North, Which is an important administrative command at Islamabad. He has also served as DG PMSA. Then the Rear Admiral was transferred as DCNS ADMIN in NHQ Islamabad. After completing his duties with full devotion he has appointed as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff training and evaluation. Presently he is serving as Commander Karachi. The Rear Admiral is happily married and blessed with three sons.
